My pieces are ranging from contemporary dinnerware to home décor goods and have a clean aesthetic. Every detail is thoughtfully considered and all pieces are individually wheel-thrown.
My name is Desiree, and I am the maker behind DēWē, a ceramic studio based in Amsterdam. My journey in pottery took a full-time turn in 2018 when I set up a small home studio where I focused on improving my skills with the pottery wheel. As time passed, I found passion for natural shapes, subtle lines, and natural finishes.
Since 2021, I've been working from my studio in Amsterdam East, where I make ceramics in small batches and host workshops for individuals and small groups. My pieces are ranging from contemporary dinnerware to home décor goods and have a clean aesthetic. Every detail is thoughtfully considered and all pieces are made using the pottery wheel. Some of my pieces are decorated with clay sourced from nearby regions like the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, adding a touch of the local area to my work.
I'm an audiobook enthusiast. I love it when there's a good story to be heard and I always have a book playing while I'm working at the studio. When I'm not at the studio, I enjoy spending weekends in our camper, near the water and surrounded by nature. It's a lovely escape from city life and it often becomes an inspiration for my pieces.
Thank you for stopping by my website. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit to the studio, please don't hesitate to get in touch. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit me by appointment at:
