This pedestal bowl is made with speckled stoneware clay, fired at a high temperature. It has a matte, transparent, lead-free glaze inside. The exterior is finished with brushstrokes and slip to create a coarser texture and emphasize the lines. The rough texture has some some sharper edges, so it's not ideal for everyday food use but great for decoration or holding small items.
